We’re super excited to open Our Local Shop to the online public for the very first time. This marketplace was a long time in the making. Spurred on by worldwide events, we’re finally ready to share our little corner of the web with you.
What is OLS? Our Local Shop is a collection of mom and pop businesses from all over SA who would love to show you their goods. They come from a variety of backgrounds, but have one thing in common. The pride they take in what they do.
As we open up for the first time, we hope to welcome many more Local Shops into our OLS family. You can help by recommending someone you know who might be interested. We’ll send them an invite.
In the mean time we’ll be running a host of promotions during our opening month of July. If you’d like to keep up with what’s new, please subscribe below.

Creative Hands is a one-woman business, started in the misty mountains of Magoebaskloof, Limpopo. Kerrin has been enthralling the local children for years with her hand made crafts sets and toys.
You may have seen her colourful stall at many of the local fairs and festivals, where toys, crafts and carnival games keep the children endlessly entertained.
She loves to see children brimming with confidence after completing a craft of their very own. And hearing the giggles of excited children choosing their very own prizes after a winning carnival game.
Of course, like many others, Kerrin has been affected by the indefinite closure of gatherings such as these. If you’d like to spread a little bit of joy, why not check out her lovely range of handmade toys, games, craft kits and party goodies at her store. And if you like them, share the joy with someone else.
Craft Den is the result of a lifetime of busy hands. Two generations of women, Denise and her mother Muriel, were born with creativity in their DNA.
Muriel is 93 years young, and loves to keep busy while sitting in front of the TV, knitting, crocheting, and making beautiful macrame plant hangers. She lives with her large family, who don’t ask much from her, except for the occasional pair of warm, knitted bed socks.
Her daughter, Denise, has followed in her footsteps. Now retired, she supplements her income with her sewn, knitted and crocheted creations.
Lockdown is a scary and uncertain time. But the one thing you can count on is that these ladies’ hands will keep busy. If you’d like to find that perfect one-of-a kind, hand-made creation, have a browse through their store. Where everything is made with love.
Jayden Plants was started by Jason when he moved to Limpopo from KZN. Jason loves nothing more than discovering a new succulent varietal to add to his collection. Because apparently one rock rose does not look like another.
Each plant, shrub, tree and herb is lovingly cared for, watered, fertilised, trimmed and weeded. Every day. Because plants keep growing, even during lockdown.
Jason would love to find these plants a loving home. Whether its that hanging pot on the balcony, or that corner of the garden that needs a little something, you’ll be sure to find a plant to fit the occasion.
Now Jason hasn’t quite figured out how to ship plants countrywide, without it ending badly for the plants. Yet. But if you’re a Limpopo local, why not flex that green thumb of yours and click on over to his store.
